What is BeReal?
After users receive a notification from BeReal app, they have 2 minutes to take quick snapshots of an “authentic moment” during the day and share with their followers.

- Download the app.
The BeReal app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. To register, enter a phone number for verification, as well as your full name and username, and then you may start using the app.
- Add contacts and find friends.
The software will then display a pop-up requesting access to your contacts. Just before posting, you may choose whether to share your post with friends or the whole public.
- You can share a photo immediately – and this step has some caveats.
The software alerts users at different times during the day that it’s “time to Be Real.” You will have two minutes to take a photo using both your front and back cameras so that others can see how you look like and where you are.
- You can also delete your BeReal post.
Once the image has been posted, click on it and then click the three dots in the corner. You can remove your post from that page. However, the software does not precisely promote this.
- Discover public content.
You can also browse public material under the discovery tab, which you may reply to with a variety of “RealMojis,” which are unique emojis but given a name linked with the app’s “realness” – the emojis are versions of selfies you’ve shot yourself.
There’s however a catch: you can only view other people’s daily life if you’ve already submitted your own BeReal.

Other app features include a Snapchat-like map that shows you where your contacts are in the world.
